According to reports, video and cellphone data from the night AKA was killed have been found by SAPS.
News of SA hip-hop artist AKA’s shooting death outside a restaurant on February 10 broke just before his scheduled performance at Yugo in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. After being shocked, fans flooded social media with condolences.
Since then, the authorities have been trying to piece together who killed whom and solve the crime. Police Minister Bheki Cele provided an update recently, stating that the SAPS had located the cars and weapons that were involved in the murder. He declared,
“The vehicles have been located, people have been identified, and the firearm employed in the incident has also been recovered. Consequently, they are currently in pursuit of this specific individual and are nearing the resolution of this case.”
According to the South African authorities, they also declared to the public that they had obtained camera footage and mobile data from the night the rapper “Lemons (Lemonade)” was assassinated. They said they had located two witnesses who had been placed under police protection as well.
It has been nearly a year since the rapper’s passing. On January 28, fans, relatives, and close friends commemorated the rapper, who would have turned 36.
