AKA’s ‘Mass Country’ Is Spotify’s Second Most Streamed South African Album in 2023

“Mass Country,” AKA’s fourth studio album, is now the second-most-listened South African album on Spotify in 2023.

We have to admit that we are disappointed that AKA isn’t around to experience the full extent of this year’s success for his music. The nation is honored by all he has accomplished. After being shot while leaving his birthday meal at a Durban restaurant, the well-known emcee passed away on February 10.

On the 24th of the same month, his album “Mass Country” was released, continuing the direction set by his management. The album’s candor, as AKA spoke about his personal problems and some of his hardships, won accolades from fans.

A number of well-known people were included on the record, including Nasty C and his girlfriend, Nadia Nakai. “Mass Country” has reportedly officially been declared the second most-listened album on Spotify in 2023, according to recent sources.

According to reports, the album has received 30 million plays on the app alone worldwide. It also becomes the quickest album in South African solo artist history and the third album by a solo hip-hop artist to do this. According to rumors, AKA may surpass the record for the most streamed album by a rapper from South Africa in the upcoming year.
