Bontle Modiselle Celebrates Priddy Ugly’s “DUST” Album

Mzansi dancer and choreographer Bontle Modiselle is happy with her husband Priddy Ugly’s just-released record, “DUST.”

It’s well known that Bontle Modiselle and Priddy Ugly are each other’s greatest fans. Priddy just released his eagerly awaited project “DUST,” which completes the trilogy, and his wife was most affected by it. She showed respect for it on social media.

Bontle penned,

“Soil. Mud. And now Dust. The end of the trilogy. That’s it. It feels so final. But you really did it. I’m Teary-eyed as I type this because I know what creating this album felt and looked like for you. Some days were hellish, others were a peace you fought for you…if you had the fight in you. And often, that fight was just to stay alive. Extremes of everything. Priddy — Ugly. What an ending.”

She spoke about his writing style.

“You’ve always said your pen is your prayer…I know God hears you, and those who hear you too, will feel you too. You hold a mirror up to allow people to see themselves or reflect of the reality of a society they live in. Love it, or hate it, it will make you feel a way.”

She also mentioned which tracks on the project were her favorites: “‘Falling’ and ‘No Plan’ are two of my favorites.” It was almost precisely a year ago that I heard the first drafts while returning from an NBA All-Star trip that took me to Utah. I sobbed. Haha. Of course I’m partial toward Afrika because she adores her and her father’s song “What’s the Math” 😂. But nothing quite matches the sound of her prayer in “Broken Home [Afrika’s Prayer]”. has a chokehold on me.
