A group of armed robbers carried out a cash-in-transit (CIT) theft on the Golden Highway, south of Johannesburg, in a daring and violent fight early on Friday morning, leaving the city in disbelief at the audacity of the attempt. Gauteng police have launched a large manhunt for the perpetrators after the attack, which left a cash vehicle completely bombed and injured guards.

Around seven in the morning, the thieves used explosives to blow up the cash van and set two other automobiles on fire in addition to destroying it.
